Pans picked for searing steak: uncoated stainless steel pans from the Helix and Graphite series (oven-safe up to 250 °C) and the Graphite cast iron grill pan (up to 280 °C) can be preheated well, and the meat can finish in the oven. If you prefer non-stick, choose Phantom or Graphite: their PFAS-free CeraGreen coating is oven-safe up to 230 °C, the most among our non-stick frying pans.
Every pan here works on all hobs, induction included. To go with them: long tongs for turning the meat, meat hammers for an even thickness and a set of six steak knives for the table.

The pot generally seems good, and the non-stick layer is of high quality. I cooked the most sticky dish I know in it and left it for a while... but surprisingly it neither stuck nor burned.

Pans: frequently asked questions
Which frying pan size should I choose?
20–24 cm pans suit one or two portions, eggs and side dishes. 28 cm is the most versatile size for everyday family cooking. Choose 30–32 cm for larger portions or batch cooking. The diameter is stated in every product name.
Non-stick or stainless steel – which is better?
A non-stick pan is the easiest choice for eggs, pancakes, fish and everyday cooking with little oil. A stainless steel pan is best for searing, browning and high heat, and it lasts for years. Many kitchens use both: non-stick for delicate food, stainless steel for meat.
Which pans work on induction?
All frying pans in our range work on induction as well as on gas, electric, ceramic and halogen hobs – BergHOFF's product data confirms this for every pan we sell. The hob types are also listed in the specification of each product.
Can I put my pan in the oven?
Yes, up to a temperature set by the handle and the coating. Non-stick pans: up to 180 °C (Balance, Glints, most Helix, most Stone+) or 230 °C (Graphite, most Phantom). Stainless steel pans (Helix, Graphite): up to 250 °C. Graphite cast iron grill pan: up to 280 °C. The exact limit is in the specification of each pan. Use an oven glove – handles get hot.
How do I make my pan last longer?
Heat the pan on low to medium heat, use wooden or silicone utensils on coated pans and let the pan cool before washing. Washing by hand with a soft sponge keeps a coating in good condition for longer. Always follow the care instructions for your model.
